As I typed my first post I had a random urge to read up on Ingmar Bergman's Biography. Two hours later my friend Chris told me he died today. The death of an artistic legend. Fanny and Alexander is one of the most breathtaking films I have ever seen and has been in my top 5 for the last two years. While I have only ever seen a handful of his films, I always revered him as one of the best directors whose work I have been lucky enough to have known. Death was a common theme strung through much of his body of work. I wonder what it was for him. God bless and rest him.
